My Story: I've worked in libraries all my life. My first job was at sixteen working as a page in my public library. In college, I worked at the Fairfield University's library and currently I work part-time at the Wyckoff Public Library in NJ. I've volunteered at my children's school library and have volunteered in a reading program for inner-city schools. I've read literally hundreds of picture books and dozens of chapter books to my children and other children. I can't think of a greater legacy than leaving children with the love of reading. I know books change lives and I want to play my part.

My philosophy about librarians and libraries: I feel librarians need to
be dynamic and enthusiastic about connecting reading and information to patrons. I believe patrons should always come before books and that librarians are in public service. I strongly believe that libraries need to meet technology innovations and meet the evolving needs and expections of their communities. To me libraries are more than books - they are community assets that can play a vital role in shaping a community.

Currently, I work in a library - I can't wait to become a librarian!
