Digital collections can consist of something that is "born digital" or physical material that has been digitized. Digital preservation can provide access, protect the original artifact, and preserve material that exists only in electronic form.

Unfortunately, there are challenges in preserving digital collections. Which standards do you use? What about cost and the threat of technological obsolescence? How long will a digital collection exist for us to use?
