Libraries have always been an important part of my life, but I only recently considered librarianship as a career. I spent my college years studying art history and have worked for several years at an art museum. Many of the features of museum work that I enjoy the most are relevant to librarianship as well, such as community development, public education, and the collection, preservation, and accessibility of materials and information. Switching fields feels like a natural progression.

I'm interested in becoming a 21st century librarian because I believe librarianship will be a fulfilling career where I can help people learn and connect with their world, challenge myself to discover new things each day, and have a lot of fun!
