Asking for help can be scary. Would you ask for help from someone who didn't make eye contact with you or who didn't seem approachable? I wouldn't.

21st century librarians actually like people despite the myth that they are bookish, shy people. Librarians have to like people because, besides managing and navigating information, they connect people to information, other people and communities. Librarians need great communication skills like the ability to be approachable, ask questions, read visual, verbal and typographic clues.
