Rachel Sussman is a photographer who works with biologists and travels all over the world to find and photograph continuously living organisms. Her target organisms are 2000 years old and older.

My initial goal for this project was to teach my students Higher Order Thinking questioning techniques and have them interview Rachel Sussman. In this process, my students would have had an opportunity to practice their questioning skills. For that purpose, I emailed Rachel Sussman and asked her whether she could Skype with my students.

Unfortunately, Rachel could not do it because she was busy working on her new book. However, her research has served as an excellent hook for getting my students engaged in this project.
