    Tewksbury's Old Turnpike School is using bottled water because of lead issues

    TEWKSBURY TWP.- The water fountains have been shut off at Old Turnpike School and bottled water coolers have been brought in due to ongoing problems with lead in the water. According to letters sent home to parents, an orthophosphate feed system was installed on Jan. 26 to combat the problem. The system uses orthophosphate to coat the inside surfaces of the plumbing by forming a molecular film which prevents water from coming into contact with the metal piping. Read more...

    Ivy Colleges Shunning Bottled Water Jab at $22 Billion Industry

    Bottled water is coming under attack on college campuses.

    More than 90 schools, among them Brown University and Harvard University are banning the sale or restricting the use of plastic water bottles, unnerving the $22 billion retail packaged-water industry in the U.S. The University of Vermont is the latest to join the movement, announcing in January it would stop sales early next year.
