Cape Coast

Dark Territory explores The Cape Coast Castle, once the destination of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade. Centuries ago inside these walls, Africans were held before being transferred to ships bound for North and South America.

Located in Ghana, West Africa, the castle is now a renowned tourist attraction. Through the art of storytelling, Dark Territory takes viewers on an emotional journey through the eyes of a young woman who traveled to the Castle in 2007.

Included on the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage List, the castle is particularly intriguing to people who are interested in retracing slavery’s steps.
