4 – Working with Ink and TextSection FOUR shows you how to edit ink or text in one document and
paste it into another document. You will be shown how to create a document
that is linked to multiple media files and how to edit the media times of a
segment. Select an ink segment in the current document. Copy
the selected segment by clicking on the "Copy" icon or by using the
pull-down menu. New Page – Create a new page for the current
document by selecting "New Page" from the "Page" menu.
The new page will be appended at the end of the document. Paste the copied segment. Click & Drag
the pasted segment if you want to change its spatial location. Select another ink segment in the current
document and cut it. New Document – Create a new document by clicking on the
"New Document" icon. Paste the ink segment in the clipboard into the
new document. Click &
Play – Notice that the linked
media information has been copied as well. Double click on the segment and
your selection will be played. Open the document "Esther Dyson
(Edventure)". Select the fourth ink segment from the top –
"What if …" – copy and paste it into the new document.
If you want to change its spatial position, drag it to the place of
your choice. Associate
Multiple Media – Notice
that the linked media information has been copied as well although the
segment you just pasted is linked to a different media file. By assigning
media to segments, Souvenir supports the playback of multiple and different
media recordings in the same Souvenir document. Each segment stores its
associated media source and relative playback offset. Editing Media –
You can edit and change the "start" and "end" media times
of a segment via the edit controls located in the upper right portion of the
display. Select the digit you want to change and enter the desired value. Editing Text – You can edit selected text within a segment using the standard Windows operations. Select and copy text in the first segment and paste it into another segment. If you want to copy or cut a whole text segment and its associated media information, then just place the cursor in a segment and perform the desired operation. Place the cursor in the first text segment and copy it. Open a new document, select the "text only" view and paste the text segment. Notice that the associated media information has been copied as well. |
