 Creating Your Own Notes

While Souvenir comes bundled with sample files, you can create media enabled notes of your own. You can do this using either a CrossPad, digitizing tablet or, if you prefer, the keyboard. If you want to use a Palm Pilot or Visor, then you need to download our note-taking software for the Pilot.

To create a new document, click on the "New Document" icon on the icon bar. If you are using a digitizing tablet, just write with your tablet. Your handwritten notes are automatically time coded and can be synchronized to media.

If you want to create a new document using the keyboard, switch to "text only" mode after you created the new document and just start typing You need to press "enter" to create a new text segment. Each paragraph or text segment that you create is time coded and can be assigned to media.

Once you have created the document you can link it to the appropriate media using the steps described next in "Link Notes to Media". If "auto sync" information is available, the synchronization can be performed in a single step.

Note - If you are a CrossPad user, you will need to set your ink transfer options to prevent the CrossPad from creating notebooks. CrossPad ink is supported by Souvenir in its native format, but Notebooks can not be opened or read.
